This Blog is a Draft

I know many of you likely share my same tendency to have ideas and thoughts that roll around in your head. Sometimes they make it “out” of my head—either on paper, in the notes of my phone, a voice memo, a quick check-in with ChatGPT, a rough draft in Canva; and other times they just seem to roll around more permanently in my brain space.

Regardless, I have a host of musings, reflections, questions, and thoughts about life, leadership, where they intersect, and where they sometimes feel more separate. I’ve been craving a place for them to “live” more succinctly.

As you likely noticed, the web address for this blog includes the word “consulting.” In full transparency, I started this website (and included the domain name!) at a time in my career when I wasn’t sure what was next other than the deep desire for something different. As is often the case, other opportunities presented themselves (for which I am very grateful), and this site took a backseat. But for five years, I have kept up with my yearly subscription to Squarespace and dutifully paid my domain dues.

So while I’m not in the business of consulting, I do feel like I have lessons I’ve learned along the way and a newfound desire to document those for myself if no one else. A place to hold my questions, my curiosities, my “ah-ha” moments. My life and work, like yours, are always in draft form. And not the kind that sit on shelves collecting dust, but the ones that are living, breathing documents—evolving as the needs of those they serve change, finding success in their iterative nature.

So that’s what this is. A work in draft. A collection of thoughts, lessons, and questions—subject to revision, always in progress.
